Awards Celebrate Top Chinese Documentary Series, Features and Filmmakers
The fourth China Documentary Awards ceremony was held on June 6.
A total of 63 excellent Chinese documentaries, filmmakers and institutions were recognized at the fourth China Documentary Awards ceremony at Shanghai Oriental TV Station on June 6.
Ten documentaries were recognized in the excellent series category. They were:"Roof of the World,""The Chinese Way of Life,""Nostalgia Memories,""Victory Day: 2015 Grand Parade,""Tibet,""Great Wall, The Story of China,""The Wild Call,""College Entrance Examination,""Hexi Corridor," and "The Great Migration of Tibetan Antelopes."
Five feature documentaries ——"Himalaya, Ladder to Paradise,""China’s Rare Species: Black-necked Crane,""The \'90s Conductor,""Spring Festival Gala in the Village," and "Tunneling the Yangtze River,"—— were honored in the excellent features category.
The awards also recognized the directors and writers of five documentaries, as well as five documentary programs, five production companies, five broadcast institutions and three organizations.
In the past year, Chinese documentaries have highlighted the stories of ordinary Chinese people, their dreams and hard-work spirit. Examples include films such as "The Chinese Way of Life,""Spring Festival Gala in the Village," and "Paper Has A Dream."
Also, a series of documentaries were made to coincide with the 70th anniversary in 2015 of China\'s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. They included "The Oriental Main Battlefield" and "Big Home Front."
