Pitch & Catch Animation Winners Chosen from High Quality Entries
The 2013 Asian Animation Pitch & Catch Forum and Awards ceremony honored outstanding animation pitches with creative stories and big market potential at the 19th Shanghai TV Festival yesterday.
More than 200 pitches from Asia were submitted for the awards but only 10 progressed to the competition\'s final phase.
The judging panel of world-renowned animation industry professionals said it was tough to choose the best pitches as many entries displayed good originality and quality.
Finally Large Invisible Cartoon\'s Mr. Miao won the Most Creative Award while Toonmax Media\'s Nunu and Lulu won the Best Market Potential Award.
Mr. Miao is an adventurous fantasy based in a mysterious world. It tells the story of Ding Guo, a boy renowned for his ghost-hunting talent, who visits Huochan Village to improve his skills. However, he finds only disaster because the ghost is causing illness among many villagers.
Nunu and Lulu is a hilarious story about cute brother and sister Nunu and Lulu who seem to attract serious trouble on a daily basis. The production has a message about loving and being loved, giving and accepting, conquering anxiety and getting courage.
The awards\' organizer said the event aims to establish an exchange platform connecting original Asian animations and investors to tap the creative potential of the market and link the entire industry chain.
