Elves and Croc Stories Win Pitch and Catch Awards
The 2011 Asian Animation Pitch and Catch award winners were announced yesterday. The Most Market Promising Project Award and 100,000 yuan prize money went to "Qland". "Par Par Is a Crocodile" won the Most Creative Award, with prize money of 50,000 yuan.The international jury panel members this year were Yang Wenyan, Frederick Dybowski, Hugues Martel, Joon Kim, and Wang Ying.
The Most Market Promising Project winner, "Qland" by Zhejiang Kubela Anime Co., Ltd., tells of twin sisters Beibei and Lala\'s adventures after they discover an elves book at home. Five elves help the girls learn about future occupations and they grow with the experience.
Kubela Anime produces animation and multimedia, as well as developing off-shoot products. It is also the country\'s only "Base of Experiencing Education for Chinese Youngsters" and is authorized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.
Most Creative Award winner, "Par Par Is A Crocodile" by Summer Plan, tells of a little crocodile who moves into a world of cats. Par Par has no friends and is always afraid of the cats at the ice-cream car until one day another little crocodile appears.
