Water and Ice Animation Stories Win Pitch & Catch Awards
The awards for Asian Animation Pitch & Catch were announced on Thursday at the Westin Bund Center Shanghai from ten nominated projects.
H2O Mermaids by Fantasia Animation International bagged the Best Market Potential Award, winning prize money of RMB 50,000.
It tells the story of three middle school girls sharing a secret that they will turn into beautiful mermaids when touching water. They make a lot of effort to keep the secret and to protect the underwater world.
The Most Creative Award went to Ice Bear World by The Gate Studio for its story about the Ice Bear family living in a world of ice and snow. Nicole Keeb, this year\'s jury president for Magnolia Animations, presented the award."I\'m very proud to be part of it," Keeb said.
Three student projects were also awarded: The Sleeping Guagua, The Sheep Fly and Abu’s Story.
