As the 18th Shanghai TV Festival opens, on behalf of the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television, I would like to extend my warm welcome to all the guests and friends who have come here from all over the world.
Chinese culture is gaining wider acknowledgement around the world along with China\'s economic rise. Shanghai TV Festival, the earliest international TV festival in China, is comprehensive in awards, market transactions, venture capital investments, and forums, and it endeavours to build a high-quality platform for TV communications, transactions and cooperation.
This year, Shanghai TV Festival will focus on the industry environment in this media age, and collect cultural resources by conducting international collaborations. In addition, the festival will continue to push forward China\'s TV industry, improve creativity as well as influence, and enhance the function of cultural exchanges and industry gatherings.
I hope that this year\'s Shanghai TV Festival can seize the excellent opportunity for cultural promotion, and build a platform with Chinese features, Shanghai style, and contemporary characteristics. In this way, our festival can function better in an industry under transformation, and attract more public involvement.
Finally, I\'d like to wish the 18th Shanghai TV Festival a complete success.
