Ten Format Pitches Take \"Oriental Creation\" Prizes
The ten most creative format pitches for entertainment shows were awarded at yesterday\'s Shanghai TV Festival "Oriental Creation" Bidding conference.
Around 100 entries from renowned format companies, production firms and individuals were submitted for the competition. Twenty of them were nominated and presented at the bidding conference.
The format pitches covered all genres of entertainment TV, such as quiz and game shows, variety shows, and reality and talk shows. Some of them were original while others have been acclaimed overseas for years.
Four entries, including The Singing Office from Idea Asia Media, Talking About My Generation from ITV Studios, Unanico Group\'s London A to Z and Shenma Nan from Shanghai Media Group, received the most coveted Jury Grand Prix awards.
The Singing Office invites unrecognized singing talents from two companies to compete in teams; and they could include security guards or the company president.
Talking About My Generation brings together people from different generations to talk about their cultural traditions, values and stories.
Six entries were selected as the most creative format pitches. Among them were celebrity variety show Hit Me Baby One More Time from ITV Studios, Pets Times from Shanghai Jinchen Green Investment Management Co.,Ltd, and Shanghai Media Group\'s four entries - the knowledge program Unknow, reality competition Dancing with the Company Staff ,celebrity talk show Hi, Channel Young Pie and travel program Weekend Travel.
The winners received a cash bonus and will have a chance to make real screen productions in collaboration with local TV channels.
