Excellence Award given to 10 TV films

 

The 1st TV Film Creative Competition, a new component of this year\'s Shanghai TV Festival, held its award ceremony yesterday in Yu Fashion Garden.
 
Ten out of 275 participants from around China received the Excellence Award. Among them, "One Jump to Fame," "\'Five High\' Leftover Women" and "Keep the First Love" picked up the Most Creative Award.
 
"Under the Same Roof?by Zhou Hulin, which discusses the current value system in confrontation with materialistic gains, garnered the Netizen Choice Award.
 
Li Huandao who wrote  "\'Five High\' Leftover Women" is a middle school Chinese teacher. A big film and also a drama fan, he wrote the film based on his observation of some single female teachers in his office.
 
"My script examines the leftover women phenomenon in the current society of China and the pain these women go through due to their situation," Liu said. "Some of them have taken the initiative to change their life and have succeeded."
 
TV films, or movies made for TV, refer to low-cost films funded by TV producers. This genre has developed rapidly in China in the past 10 years. Facing an increasing demand with the development of China\'S TV networks, the TV film industry is in great need of more creative film ideas and talents.
 
This year\'s competition turned towards the grassroots TV film lovers as a source of ideas. Aiming to promote the progress of TV film in China, the competition seeks to provide a free and open platform for grassroots screenwriters to showcase and even realize their ideas.
 
The winning works have already been bought by famous television production companies and will be put into production in the future.
