If your company’s production is only broadcast online, please select “Broadcast Medium - Website Only” and fill in the “TV Series Distribution License Number” truthfully when you register.

Q: High-definition video clips of 3 minutes or less are required for registration. If we have clips of different lengths (30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.), which one should we submit?

Q: What occasions will the program materials, posters, autographed stills, etc. (which are required by the regulations) be used on?

Q: What should we do if our show is still on air and we cannot provide the video of the last episode at the time of submission?

A: If the last episode is temporarily unavailable, submit other episodes first and the last one can be added later.

Q: Can we add logos or watermarks to the samples?

A: Yes, but only if they don’t affect the viewing.

Q: Do TV series/documentaries/animations with English dialogues need to be submitted with Chinese subtitles?

A: They can be submitted with English subtitles; additional Chinese subtitles are not necessary.

Q: I am a/an director/actor and the show I directed/acted in was already aired last year. Can I apply for the Magnolia Award for Best Chinese TV Series Director or Best Actor/Actress in a Leading/Supporting Role?

A: The subject of the application for the Magnolia Awards in the category of Chinese TV series is limited to production companies (the “filmmakers”) that own the copyrights of the series, so applications from individuals will not be accepted. You can ask the filmmaker to sign up. Once a series is submitted, it will be considered running for all the Magnolia Awards in the category of Chinese TV series, unless the filmmaker specifically disclaims one or more of the individual awards.

Q: Can single-episode animations and animated short films be submitted for the Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards?
