Young actor Zhang Linghe has been appointed as the “Magnolia Youth Ambassador” for the 31st STVF. In this role, he will actively participate in a series of festival-side events, offering audiences a fresh, youth-driven perspective on audiovisual storytelling.

In recent years, Zhang Linghe has brought to life a number of critically acclaimed characters, building a broad fan base and cultural influence both at home and abroad. From the gentle and restrained Changheng, the immortal lord in Love between Fairy and Devil, to the morally complex Grand Mentor Xie Wei in Story of Kunning Palace, he has demonstrated remarkable versatility in character portrayal. In the contemporary drama The Best Thing, he took on the role of He Suye, a attending physician of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), weaving TCM cultural elements into his performance and sparking audience discussions about TCM culture. This year, his historical drama Pursuit of Jade, which incorporates traditional Chinese cultural and aesthetic motifs, garnered widespread attention from viewers around the world, eliciting cross-regional aesthetic appreciation and emotional resonance. Additionally, in the public-welfare documentary The Answer is Earth, he stepped into the role of a “power industry intern”, taking viewers to the front lines of China’s national power sector to explore offshore wind power, energy storage, and other new-energy fields, shedding light on the technological practices and achievements under China’s “dual carbon” goals. Through his diverse creative endeavors, Zhang Linghe is actively contributing to the dissemination of Chinese culture and embodying the vibrant spirit of young artists in the cultural sector.

Since its inception, STVF has grown into one of Asia’s most important international platforms for television exchange and cooperation. This year, the 31st edition continues to honor its legacy while embracing bold innovation, remaining steadfast in its commitment to embracing the world with an open and inclusive vision. As the Magnolia Youth Ambassador, Zhang Linghe expressed his eagerness to share outstanding audiovisual works with a wider audience, facilitate dialogue and exchange between Chinese and international television cultures, and help paint a vibrant picture of the industry’s future.
