In the afternoon of June 19, “Integration and Co-creation, New Audiovisual Mode for 5G Radio and Television – STVFORUM of the 28th Shanghai TV Festival (STVF)was held in Shanghai Exhibition Center. Over 200 industry representatives, experts and scholars from all over the country, as well as upstream and downstream partners of the industry chain gathered to discuss the integrated development path and new opportunities for audiovisual services at the application and industry ends with the engine of 5G radio and television. He said that through upholding the four key words of “reform, innovation, integration and openness”, China Broadcast Network have served thousands of households and industries, empowered the radio and television media industry, collaborated with national stations and networks, developed all-media, intelligent and mobile communication modes, and shaped a new communication pattern for mainstream public opinions, thus contributing to the high-quality development of radio and television and the construction of a strong cultural nation in the new era.

Approved by the National of Radio and Television Administration, China Broadcast Network together with the Academy of Broadcasting Science and Shanghai Media Group, has set up the “National Radio and Television Administration Laboratory of Smart Radio and Television Communication Innovation” and participated in the development of 5G Cloud TV and other full-media communication research and innovation work. Xu Da expected that these achievements can be integrated into Shanghai’s digital transformation more deeply and comprehensively to enhance city capacity, better enable society and serve the people. “China Broadcast Network is willing to further deepen station-network synergy and content communication innovation with Shanghai Media Group to provide a more mature model for national radio and television stations and networks.”

A new audiovisual future of radio and television led by 5G Cloud TV

5G Cloud TV offers a new opportunity for 5G radio and television development. Under the guidance of the “National Radio and Television Administration Laboratory of Smart Radio and Television Communication Innovation”, it was born through the collaboration of two teams from BesTV and Oriental Cable Network. 5G Cloud TV has integrated and developed vertical content by tapping deep into the program library of Shanghai Media Group, and uniting with channels, frequencies and theaters through BesTV. Through copyright acquisition, it has built a rich portfolio of nine content systems such as movies, TV series, children’s content, education, sports, documentary, information, etc., and accumulated over hundreds of thousands of hours of quality content. It has also brought in live TV channels, recorded TV programs, and on-demand programs for movies and TV drama, providing users with richer 4K/8K UHD, panoramic sound, and immersive multiform content featuring a high-tech and new audiovisual experience.

He said that in recent years, TV stations and network companies are facing various difficulties and problems, and seeking solutions from the technical level is the most cost-efficient way. The 5G secure broadcasting chain breaks through the limitations of traditional management systems in terms of technology, content and transmission, and meets the needs of future network audiovisual development trends in terms of architecture and application.

Openness and win-win cooperation to open the 5G big audiovisual era
