The 2023 Shanghai International Film & TV Festival Held Mobilization Meeting

The global gathering of film and TV workers and the fest for film and drama fans will officially rejoin us in June. This afternoon, a mobilization meeting for the 2023 Shanghai International Film & TV Festival was held, along with the release of the list of screening cinemas at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) and the the Appreciation of Magnolia with the theme of Magnolia Fragrance open screening locations for the 28th Shanghai TV Festival.

Since SIFF and Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association launched the recruitment for screening cinemas, cinemas all over the city have actively submitted applications, with nearly 20 more cinemas signing up than the previous session. After multi-dimensional selection in terms of equipment stability, projection quality, service quality and traffic conditions, a total of 41 cinemas in Shanghai became the designated screening cinemas for this year's SIFF, spanning 16 districts in the city.

Taking the lead in technological upgrades across the nation, the shortlisted cinemas in Shanghai have all arranged high-tech halls for the screening. Among the 50 halls of 41 cinemas, there is no lack of halls featured by vanguard Dolby, LUXE, IMAX, Onyx, RealD, CINITY and other technologies.

This year's screening will also be characterized by a distinctive cultural flavor. In addition to the newly renovated main venue Shanghai Film Art Center and other cinemas familiar to fans such as the Grand Theater, a range of theatre-based cinemas such as Shanghai Concert Hall, Majestic Theatre, FANCL Arts Center and Hongqiao Art Centre will join the screening event together to unveil the aura of Shanghai as a metropolis of rich culture legacy, and delight fans with both the beauty of films and, what’s more, the charm of the city of art in Asia.

Tickets will be available for purchase on June 2 at 12 noon on the designated ticketing platform, Taopiaopiao, and two hours later, offline ticketing will start at all screening cinemas.

During SIFF this year, the Belt and Road Film Week will continue with the "Yangtze River Delta Screening" programme, to present selected fine new films from countries along the Belt and Road route. Fans from Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Hefei are welcome to enjoy these works in their cities.
